The project intends to contribute to the sustainable and territorial development (social, economic and environmental) of the coastal and maritime area of ​​the city of Tyre, through the realization of a participatory territorial planning system and the implementation of related pilot actions. The project is addressed to the local authorities and the community to meet the need to implement measures for the adaptation and prevention of risks related with climate change and to have environmental monitoring and marine-coastal waste management services available.

The planned activities are: to strengthen the governance capacities of the local authorities of Tire; offer integrated services for sustainable and participatory environmental management; ensure integrated services for waste collection and the reduction of marine and coastal pollution.

The expected results are: to improve the capacities and tools of 77environmental planning and management of marine and coastal waste of the Municipality of Tire and local authorities; strengthen the resilience and the ability to adapt to climate-related risks of local authorities and the coastal community through the acquisition of skills, tools and operational practices in new environmental services of public utility; reduce the effects of marine and coastal pollution through the introduction of new environmental services and practices of public utility in the city of Tire.
